The CDJ-900 Nexus is no longer available, please click here to browse through our latest range of DJ multiplayers.
The CDJ-900 Nexus builds on the excellent work already achieved by its ancestor, the CDJ-900. One thing that will be noticeable is the upgrade to the technology, for example, the ability to create and play your favourite tracks from a smartphone, a full-colour LCD screen which is advantageous when utilising Pioneer flagship software Rekordbox. This player has a high-resolution screen which allows the DJ to have a clear and instant view of the Track Display and Wave Zoom, this is a great feature when the user wants edit rekordbox beatgrids.
In this section we concentrate on some of the great features, we think you want to hear know. These players as previously mentioned are entirely compatible with Pioneers free rekordbox software, and if it is a music management tool that helps you store all your music in one place but more importantly allows the user to prepare tracks and deliver a faultless performance. So many great functions on this player but possibly one of our favourites is the ability to connect multiple players, turntables or laptops by using a Local Area Network (LAN).
With the introduction of the SYNC button, it has become vital for contemporary DJ’s to look at boosting creativity by putting together unique sets. Slip Mode allows the user to do live edits by keeping the track muted while it’s playing allowing you the freedom to mess around with loops, scratching or even reverse, then just simply let go of the jog wheel and the track will continue playing for seamless edits on the fly. Another innovative function on the CDJ-900 Nexus is the Beat Divide; this tool allows the user to chop up the beat and move it around in a loop. If you join this with the power of slip mode the user will activate Slip Loop, so like mentioned before once you release the button the track instantly comes back in at the right place.
In this final section, we will take a look at some of the key features that we believe make this a great multimedia player. Within this player is Pro-quality audio circuitry, this comes as standard and will give you a 24-bit/48kHz soundcard for powerful sound at most club venues. USB playback may seem like a simple feature to have on modern CDJ’s. However, it is not uncommon for players to only have a small selection of file formats that will work. The CDJ-900 Nexus still plays MP3, AAC, WAV and AIFF ensuring that the highest quality of sound will always be heard.
Three software’s that can be used on the player with the use of USB-HID control are rekordbox DJ, Serato and Traktor Pro 2.0. In simple terms this just means that you don’t need the control discs to operate this software if you’re a Traktor user or Serato fan. When using the rekordbox DJ performance software it unleashes many performance functions such as Sound Colour FX, Beat FX, Beat Jump, Pad FX, Hot Cues and Sampler.
