The Novation Launchkey Mini MK3 includes an exciting new set of capabilities meant to expand your creative options when producing music on the go. As we all know, all you need to compose music these days is a laptop, and Novation extends this philosophy to the MIDI controller. You no longer need a massive 88-key controller with a plethora of faders and control knobs. This keyboard gives you the same creative flexibility but in a far more portable package.
The transport section functions as an extension of your workstation, providing you with hands-on control without requiring you to touch your computer. This keyboard controller also supports single-note chord triggering. This is an excellent composing tool for producers who are unfamiliar with music theory.
The Launchkey mini MKIII may be used with any DAW, however it is most known for its partnership with Ableton. On the session view, the 16 pads correspond to the same colours as your clips. This may be transferred to various digital audio workstations using the mapping templates provided by Novation. The LaunchKey Mini also has an arpeggiator to give you additional creative options and is a great midi keyboard option for any on-the-go music producer.
