If you're an ambitious DJ who wants to battle, scratch and perform like a DMC expert, the Pioneer DDJ-REV1 DJ controller is an excellent starting point. It's compatible with Serato DJ Lite and come loaded with several great features including Tracking Scratch and Lever FX.

New Design Layout

The DJM-S mixer and the PLX turntable were considered while designing the layout of the DDJ-REV1, because  Open-format and scratch DJs prefer this style of layout when performing. The tempo sliders (60mm in length) were relocated to the top of the deck sections and rotated horizontally to guarantee that the combat configuration was genuine. This is a first for a Pioneer DJ Controller and is meant to resemble a duel between two PLX turntables configured in a similar fashion. The performance pads and Lever FX paddles in the mixer area make it easy to blend effects, samples, and scratching tracks during performances.

The Lever FX may be used to add texture to the music. Serato DJ Lite's effects may be applied by dragging them to the bottom of the screen, or they can be locked in place so that your hands can be free for scratching or exploring records.

There is a noticeable difference in the size of the jog wheels on the REV1. You can't go wrong with these for scratching, especially with features like Tracking Scratch. The Performance Pads may also be used to activate samples and tracks stored in Scratch banks, and they control Decks 3/4, allowing sounds to be played from any of the software's four decks.

Tracking Scratch Feature

Using the jog wheel or lifting your hand, the Tracking Scratch will automatically bring the track back to the cue position. Rewinding backwards or closing your fader and beginning your scratch from scratch again is unnecessary with this feature. Tracking Scratch Pad mode is activated by selecting it, selecting the Scratch Crossfader Cuts pattern using the Performance Pad and then rotating the jog wheel.

Streaming and Audio

The DDJREV1 is a first for an entry-level DJ controller, allowing users to stream music and add voice or speech through a microphone. There's no need for an additional soundcard or mixer when using Serato DJ Lite to stream music directly to your laptop.

Serato DJ Lite Integration

Connect the included USB cord to a laptop or Mac and plug in the free Serato DJ Lite software for easy plug-and-play convenience. There is an option to upgrade to Serato DJ Pro to utilise with your controller when you're ready to step up your game.

Overall, the Pioneer DDJ-REV1 is a great starter setup for scratch DJs who want to learn and prepare for upcoming competitions.

To use Serato DJ Lite with the DDJ-REV1 you will need to download and install the latest version.
